Strong Demand Extends Everlaty Delivery Time to One Year
Everlati was just founded in 2019, but this electric vehicle conversion company has already expanded from its native UK to the US and Europe.
Demand has also skyrocketed to the point where the waiting list for some conversions has grown to a year.
Eberlaty offers a wide variety of conversions, from classic Land Rovers to 964-generation Porsche 911s and even a Ford GT40 (thankfully only a replica). The most popular is the 911 conversion, which is manufactured in both the UK and the US.
According to Eberlati, many of its customers belong to the Millennial and Gen-Z generations. They yearn for cars of the 1980s and '90s, but want them to be electric, the company said.
"Our cars have captured the imagination of sustainability-conscious auto enthusiasts who are flocking to Everlati to experience the next generation of iconic car ownership," Everlati CEO and founder Justin Lunney said in a statement.
Prices for conversions are not cheap: a 911 conversion starts at 250,000 British pounds (about $276,550). However, Eberlati offers more than a powertrain swap. Eberlati custom-designs the electric powertrain for each model, positioning the components optimally to preserve the car's inherent driving experience.
For example, the GT40 conversion features a gear shifter that allows the driver to select a "virtual" gear in race mode. Additionally, power delivery may be paused
to simulate the sensation when the driver releases the pedal.
Additionally, in race mode, a 110db sound generator simulating the sound of a V8 exhaust is activated. The seats are even equipped with transducers to allow the driver to feel the sound as well.
