2026 Ram 2500 HD Rebel latest sighting
Lamb was spotted testing a prototype of the 2500 HD update. This prototype is for the Rebel grade, but most of the styling tweaks should make their way to other grades of the heavy-duty pickup.
Updates to the 2500 HD range will likely debut for the 2026 model year; it will be the most significant update to the current pickup, which first appeared in 2019.
Camouflage gear points to a new front mask design and revised lights on both ends. Also, at least for the Rebel, a new grille appears to be planned.
The new grille may incorporate larger sensors and a simpler design than the current model (shown below), and it is likely that the 2025 model update will follow the lines of the smaller 1500 Rebel, which also has a cleaner grille.
The prototype wore Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires.
According to the photographer, the prototype's interior also wore some camouflage gear, indicating that changes are coming to the cabin.
The Sterantis brand is in the process of discontinuing its V-8 engine. Even the Hellcat-powered 1500 TRX gave way to the new 1500 RHO with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6.
The updated 2500 HD, however, is expected to keep the V-8 for now. The engine is a 6.4-liter V-8 with 410 hp, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
An alternative is a 6.7-liter turbo diesel inline six-cylinder from Cummins, mated to a six-speed automatic.
Stay tuned for updates as development progresses.
