2025 Jeep Avenger 4x4 spied test with electric power
Jeep is working on the first all-wheel drive version of the Avenger sub-compact crossover sold abroad.
Baby Jeep debuted as the brand's first electric car in late 2022. A gas and mild hybrid powertrain was added later. All previous powertrain is paired only with front-wheel drive.
The new all-wheel drive version is expected to debut later this year or early next year for the market where Avenger is offered and comes with a new hybrid powertrain.
Jeep previewed the 2022 Avenger with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive electric powertrain with the Avenger 4x4 concept, but the prototype here is based on an electric motor that powers the rear wheels and a gas engine currently available, a turbocharged engine. It features a hybrid powertrain with a 1.2 liter inline 3.Drive the front pair. The gas engine provides 100 hp on its own, and the addition of electric motors should boost the total output of the vehicle to a respectable number.
The prototype also features a preview roof rack in the Avenger 4x4 concept, and some styling clues from the concept could be hidden under camouflage gear.
Avenger is riding on the CMP modular platform of Jeep's parent company, Stellantis. The platform is designed for sub-compact and compact cars and is also included in the associated Alfa Romeo Jr. and Fiat 600. Production is carried out at the plant in Tychy, Poland.
Most CMP-based crossovers are about 160 inches in length, or about 6 inches shorter than the already small rebel, so none of them can reach the United States.
