Manthey Kit For Porsche 911GT3RS Delete Rear Window
Porsche's 992 generation 911GT3RS is already one of the most powerful factory-built truck cars that money can buy, but Manthey-Racing has worked hard to improve the formula with a range of performance upgrades.
Mann They are Porsche's most successful customer racing team and have won multiple races and championships. This success has given Muncie the right to play a role as a Porsche factory team on opportunities including the World Endurance Championship, and Porsche dealers have also offered various upgrades for Muncie.
The latest upgrade will be available in the new Manthey kit that Porsche revealed on Friday. The automaker has confirmed that the kit will be available in Europe from March 1 next year and in other markets from March 3 next year. Some Manthey products are already sold here, but their availability in the US has not been announced.
As with previous Manthey upgrades, the new Manthey kit improves performance on the racetrack through chassis and aerodynamics changes rather than increasing horsepower The focus of the latest kit was to increase cornering speed. According to Nicolas Raeder, Manthey's boss, the upgrade has significantly improved the GT3RS lap time.
Porsche has already set the Nürburgring lap time in 2022 with the Stock GT3RS at 6:49.328, and Raeder said Manthey plans to set his own time in the near future.
The most obvious change to the car is the new aerodynamic package. There are front and rear spoilers (including DRS for the rear wing), front diving planes, wheel arch gurney flaps, aerodisks for the rear wheels, and multiple roof fins. However, the highlight is a new panel that replaces the rear window. It features its own central stabilizing fin and thanks to its carbon fiber construction, it is approximately 25% lighter than the original window.
According to Manthey, the result is more than 177 pounds of downforce at 2,200 mph, compared to a 1,895 pound stock figure.
For the suspension, engineers increased the spring rate of the semi-active coil over to accommodate higher downforce loads, increasing it by 30% in the front and 15% in the rear. The new active damper also works with the new control unit, which Manthey said was more accurate than the stock, resulting in better stability. There are normal, sport, and track modes to choose from, and in Track mode, the driver has the ability to adjust the setup.
The brake package has been upgraded with a steel brake line and is optionally equipped with racing brake pads designed to reduce fades while increasing responsiveness. Other options include visual adjustments such as Manthey brand illuminated door sill guards, puddle lamps and various decals. The tow hook can also be attached.
As the drivetrain has not changed, the GT3RS 4.0 liter Flat 6 still pumps out stock 518 hp, with a drive sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Porsche did not say how much the Manthey kit would cost, but the automaker confirmed that installing the kit would not affect the new car warranty.
Porsche has just updated the 2025 model 992 generation 911, including the addition of a hybrid powertrain to the gts model. The Turbo, Turbo S, and GT3RS models have not changed in 2025, but likely updates for the 2026 model are being developed. The updated GT3RS has been spotted testing and it is rumored that significant changes have been made to the engine.
