Lamborghini Countach 83 miles Sold.
If you want to go back in time 30 years, you don't need a time machine. A Canadian dealer is selling a 1990 Lamborghini Countach with only 135 kilometers (83 miles) on the odometer.
The ad does not provide details about the Countach or why it has remained in this condition for 30 years. The dealer only stated that the car is the 25th anniversary model, one of only 658 produced. This car was produced in the last year of Countach production.
As a later Countach, this example is somewhat over-styled. The Countach was introduced in 1974, and over the years Lamborghini tried to keep it fresh with various styling updates; by 1990, the Countach's original look designed by Marcello Gandini, fairing, spoiler, widened wheel arches.
The 25th Anniversary Edition featured model-specific front and side spoilers and air vents, some of which were designed by Pagani CEO and founder Horacio Pagani, who was working at Lamborghini at the time. The car also received an oversized front bumper to meet tougher crash test standards.
The 5.2-liter V12 engine behind the cabin produces 455 hp and is sent through a five-speed manual transmission to huge 345/35ZR15 rear tires. Top speed is 183 mph.
Lamborghini Montreal is asking 799,900 Canadian dollars (US$562,709) for the Countach. Supercars like this come up for sale fairly regularly, but it's unlikely that a copy in similar capsule condition will be available anytime soon. It will be interesting to see if the new owner will use the car for its intended purpose or just leave it alone for a few more decades.
