Yokohama revives historic design for classic cars

Japanese tire manufacturer Yokohama has modified some of its older designs with newer technology for use on classic cars.

"Tire design and manufacturing technology has evolved significantly over the past 50 years or so. With the launch of our classic car hobby tire range, owners can now fit tires with modern levels of performance, offering superior comfort, grip, and longevity." However, the classic styling of the tires helps maintain the period look that is so important to owners."

The tires are also available in a variety of colors and sizes.

The tires are available in Europe, but some have already made it to the U.S. market.

The first tire in the new series is the G.T. Special Y350, which Yokohama says is "the first radial tire technology in the Yokohama product line, dating back to 1967 when the original brand was launched... for Japanese and European historic cars from the 1960s and 1970s. The tire, ideal for Japanese and European historic cars from the 1960s and 1970s, is currently available in 14-inch and 15-inch sizes.

There is also a Yokohama Advan A008P for the Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo (930), now back in the classic sizes 245/45ZR16 (rear) and 205/55ZR16 (front).
