A movie series based on the cars from the movie "Ford vs Ferrari" is in production.

If you liked the Shelby car featured in "Ford vs. Ferrari," a partnership between Shelby American, Shelby Legendary Cars, and Superformance is releasing a replica of it. The "Cinema Series" includes a Shelby Cobra loader, a Daytona coupe, and a GT40, the partners added, with only 100 cars in the series.

The Cobra and Daytona Coupe will receive special Shelby CSX serial numbers, while the GT40 will receive a CSGT40 P Series chassis number. Each vehicle will be registered with the Shelby Registry. [The heroic battle on the racetrack propelled the American automobile onto the world stage and earned it the respect it needed to compete internationally. Everyone is so excited about Ford vs. Ferrari that we are celebrating it with these special cars that are the ultimate movie memorabilia. [Lance Stander, CEO of Shelby Legend Cars, Superformance, and Hillbank USA, said, "We have worked on many exciting projects since we began offering Shelby and Superformance Cars. "Nothing was more exciting than the opportunity to provide the cars for Fox Studios and Disney's Ford vs. Ferrari movie. It was a real pleasure working with them and the film is truly amazing. I think it is the best 'car movie' ever made."

"The success of the Cobra program prompted the Ford Motor Company to take over the GT40 program (or Ford GT as it was originally called) for Shelby American.

"Led by Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, and Phil Remington, they accomplished what many thought was impossible and drove Ferraris around the world on circuits including Le Mans in 1966. Ford's GT40 eventually won the overall Le Mans title for the fourth year in a row.

"Their story was so fascinating that Fox Studios adapted it into a film directed by James Mangold and starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale. The production company approached Lance Stander of Shelby Legends Cars/Superformance to provide the vehicle for the film. The Shelby Cobra Roadster, Daytona Coupe, and GT40 appeared in key scenes.

According to the announcement, the Cinema Series vehicles will be built to the same specifications as those supplied to the filmmakers, turnkey vehicles with Avon CR6 ZXZ tires, with engines and transmissions that can be added by customers and installers.

The Cobra Roadster could be blue like the first car Damon drove in the movie, white like the car in the movie with Shelby's engraved wrench and cracked spare racing windshield, or the son of Shelby team racer Rich McDonald, made in red like the car Dave McDonald drove in the movie.

The Daytona Coupe will be available in aluminum and fiberglass in the same livery as CSX2299, which won Le Mans in 1964.

The GT40 will be available in blue and white stripes with flashes of orange like the 1966 Daytona winner or in black like the 1966 Le Mans winner.

According to a news release, the actual car used in the film was sold within 48 hours of hitting the market. Among the buyers were Aaron Shelby and Randall Shelby, grandsons of Carroll Shelby, Peter Miles, son of Ken Miles, and Rich McDonald.

Prices for the Cinema Series start at $98,995 for the Shelby Cobra Roadster, $179,995 for the Daytona Coupe, and $189,995 for the GT40.
