Nothing kills better than overkill. This saying describes this off-road Porsche 911 perfectly, and now you can order one.

Russell Built Fabrication debuted the 964-based Baja-ready Porsche 911 at the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and now they are officially taking orders.

Cost: T.J. Russell, founder, CEO, fabricator, and janitor of Russell Built Fabrication, told Motor Authority that the vehicles on display at this and the 2019 SEMA Show are luxury models and cost $650,. 000 and up, he said.

Both the chassis and suspension have been strengthened, with the track widened by a whopping 14 inches and the wheelbase stretched by 3 inches for greater stability at speed.

Specifically, a custom 4130 chromoly structural tower was added up front, with custom spindles, upper A-arms machined from 7075 aircraft billet aluminum, and heat-treated 4130 chromoly lower A-arms.

At the rear, baggy-style chromoly box plates and tube trailing arms hooked to stock hard points help maintain the 911's handling characteristics, according to Russell (you'll have to actually hold the wheel to confirm). It also features an adjustable rear stabilizer.

All of this is on top of 3-way adjustable coilovers that are 2.5" front and 3.0" rear, helping to provide 12" of suspension travel in the front and 13.5" in the rear. These are numbers we would love to try out.

Everything is wrapped in wide-body fenders, a molded rally-style hood, lightweight doors, and a hardtop made of composite materials. Total weight is claimed to be 2,800 pounds, down over 400 pounds due to the removal of stock steel body parts.

Power comes from a Rothsport Racing-tuned 3.8-liter flat-six that produces 365 hp and 310 hp of torque. The engine internals, throttle body, and intake manifold have been upgraded, all of which are controlled by a Motec ECU. In this particular car, power is sent to all four wheels, but Russell Built Fabrication also offers rear-wheel drive.

Customers can choose their wheels and tires, and the SEMA prototype car rides on 15x7-inch 1552 Integrale wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T II tires.

These 911s will be equipped with a chromoly race-spec roll cage and a Motec digital display that monitors vehicle components and records data. To control noise and heat in the cabin, Russell Built Fabrication applies a ceramic coating and sprays a sound deadener. A locking storage box is located behind the folding Sparco SPX carbon fiber seats. According to Russell, equipment such as a winch and roof rack can be requested.

The $650,000 luxury model also includes prototype off-road lighting, stereo, and air conditioning. Russell said that is the beginning, not the end.

Order now and invite us to put it to the test.
