Escort Redline 360C Radar Detector Aims for Range King

2020 is shaping up to be a fruitful year for avid radar detector enthusiasts.

On Tuesday, Escort expanded its radar detector lineup with the introduction of the Redline 360C, which combines the capabilities of its two most powerful detectors, the 360 and Redline EX, with increased range and processing power. This new top of the line is intended to repel the new Valentine One Gen2.

Extreme range is the name of the game with the Redline 360C. Equipped with radar receivers front and rear, it aims to be the most sensitive radar detector in its entire range, with twice the detection range of the Redline EX model.

Like the 360, it can detect 360 degrees as well as the front and rear of a vehicle.

As part of the Redline series, the Redline 360C uses Escort's stealth technology and antenna design to make the detector invisible to radar detectors. For those in states where radar detectors are illegal, this technology could prove invaluable.

The Blackfin DSP chip offers 25% more processing power than the Redline EX model, according to Escort.

After Valentine Research's patent expired in 2012, Escort finally adopted the 360 series directional arrows from Valentine One in 2015, providing drivers with insight into where threats are coming from. Built-in Wi-Fi allows for automatic software updates, threat map updates, and real-time alerts from other Escort radar detector users (like the Waze user community).

Artificial intelligence is used to filter out false signals such as road construction and speed limit signs.

Escort's AutoLearn technology can now automatically reject false signals at fixed locations via the built-in Telit GPS receiver (e.g., driving past the same store every day and an automatic door opener creates a false positive signal). An updatable filter database can filter out false signals from vehicle safety technology, such as signals from blind spot monitors and automatic emergency braking systems. With previous detectors, drivers could reject false signals with the push of a button.

The Redline 360C is Escort's first Redline Series detector with the 360 Series case design. The front lip of the Redline EX has been removed and all buttons have been moved to the top of the detector, similar to the rest of the 360 Series lineup. A full-color OLED screen provides detailed information on signal strength and potential threats. The screen also displays detector mode and status.

The Redline 360C is priced at $749.95 and can be ordered on Escort's website.
