The Alfa Wolf+ could be the ultimate electric pickup truck

While the Hyundai Santa Cruz shows that at least one established automaker is working to build a truly compact pickup truck, startup Alpha Motors is developing its own all-electric competitor. Alpha Wolf has yet to begin production, but the company has already announced a second version.

The Alpha Wolf+ has a larger cab and better performance and towing capabilities than the standard version unveiled last month.

While the standard Wolf is a two-door cab with seating for two, the Wolf+ is an extended cab with rear-hinged half doors and seating for four. According to Alfa's website, it will be available with single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive.

Alfa claims a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than the standard Wolf) and a towing capacity of 6,724 pounds compared to 3,000 pounds for the standard Wolf. However, the projected range remains unchanged at 250-275 miles.

Images on Alpha's website also show the Wolf+ decorated with accessories such as a roof rack, bed extender, and folding tent. The truck also has a large "flank," but due to its compact design, it does not have the side pass-through space that Livian uses to place her camp kitchen.

In addition to the Wolf and Wolf+, Alfa displayed the Ace Coupe and its SUV-like version, the Jax. The company is currently taking reservations, but delivery is scheduled to begin in 2023.

Pricing for the Wolf+ ranges from $40,000 to $48,000, up from $36,000 to $46,000 for the standard Wolf.

Several companies are considering launching electric pickups, but Canoe is the only one that has announced one similar in size to the Wolf. Other competitors, including the Tesla Cyber Truck, GMC Hummer EV, and Rivian R1T, are slightly larger. It is worth noting, however, that Alfa has not shown any practical prototypes of its detailed plans for the plant.
