Prices for the 2021 Ford Mustang, Mach E GT and GT Performance starting at $61,000.

Ford on Monday announced final specifications and pricing for the Mach-E GT and Mach-E GT Performance Edition, the sportiest versions of its electric SUVs, starting at $61,000 for the GT and $66,000 for the GT Performance Edition (both Both are available for order now.

Both versions feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain that produces 480 hp. Torque output is 600 lb-ft for the GT and 634 lb-ft for the GT Performance Edition. Other all-wheel-drive Mach-E variants show 346 hp and 428 lb-ft, and Ford also offers a rear-wheel-drive version with a single motor.

Ford claims 0-60 mph times of 3.8 seconds for the GT and 3.5 seconds for the GT Performance Edition. The latter figure is comparable to the Tesla Model Y Performance, which has a base price of $61,190.

EPA estimates for range are 250 miles for the GT and 235 miles for the Performance Edition. This is well below the longest range Mach E, California Route 1, which can travel 305 miles on a single charge. The Tesla Model Y Performance has an EPA-estimated range of 303 miles.

The Mach-E GT Performance Edition also adds Brembo brand brake calipers, magnetic dampers, and Pirelli summer tires in place of the Mach-E GT's Continental all-season rubber. Both models feature Ford's BlueCruise driver-assist system, which can control steering, acceleration, and braking on certain stretches of highway. Unlike Tesla, Ford also employs a driver monitoring system to prevent misuse.

Ford plans to begin deliveries of the Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition in early fall. That may not be the only performance version of the Mach-E. We have heard that a Shelby version may also be on the way.
